Noite de Discos Perdidos no Feito Conceito

Este sábado vou estar no Feito Conceito (R. Alexandre Herculano, 16, 1º - Coimbra), numa noite dedicada aos anos 70 e 80, a partir das 23h30.

Biografia – Yazoo

Os Yazoo (conhecido nos Estados Unidos como Yaz), dupla britânica de synthpop, nasceram em Basildon, Essex, na Inglaterra, em finais de 81.

A banda era formada pelo compositor Vince Clarke nos sintetizadores, que deixara os Depeche Mode, e pela cantora Alison Moyet. Os Yazoo viriam a assinar pela editora Mute Records.

O single de estreia "Only You" (o lado B tinha o hit "Situation"), foi lançado em 15 de Março de 1982, tendo alcançado o segundo lugar nas tabelas. Os Yazoo lançaram apenas dois álbuns de estúdio: "Upstairs at Eric's", em 1982, e "You and Me Both", em 1983.

Pouco tempo depois a dupla desfez o grupo tendo Moyet seguido carreira a solo, enquanto que Vince Clarke formou os The Assembly (com o produtor Eric Radcliffe) e mais tarde os Erasure.

Em 2008 os Yazoo reuniram-se para uma tour na Europa e nos Estados Unidos, tendo lançado de uma boxset com os maiores sucessos e duas músicas inéditas.

Actualmente, os Yazoo continuam a inspirar muitos grupos, podendo apenas citar-se como exemplo os LCD Soundsystem.
